~The Month of Action~

This blessed month is a month of mercy, forgiveness and most all ACTION.

This is the month where we increase in our acts of worship and good deeds, reconnect with the Quran and renew our relationship with our Creator.

This is the month in which all our good deeds are rewarded in multiples so definitely a time for us to stop thinking and talking about all we want to do, and JUST DO IT!

We learn from the Hadith that The Prophet (SAW) was his most generous during the month of Ramadhan. Ibn 'Abbas said:
The Prophet was the most generous of people, but he would be his most generous during Ramadhan when he would meet with the angel Gabriel. He would meet with him every night and recite the Quran. When Gabriel met him, he used to be more generous than a fast wind
There are many charities out there that need your assistance. So donate today! Money, time, clothes it all makes a difference.

~Iftaar~

There are various manners of fasting for a Muslim person. For instance, eating a pre- dawn meal which has many benefits and blessings in it (As reported by Anas bin Maalik, related by Bukhari and Muslim).

Another is hastening to break ones fast once the sun has set. It is sunnah to break ones fast with dates and water. Anas reported:
The Messenger of Allah would break his fast with ripe dates before he would pray. If those were not available, he would eat dried dates. If those were not available, he would drink some water
(This hadith is related by Abu Dawud and al- Hakim, who call it sahih, and at-Tirmidhi who called it hassan)

A highlight of Ramadhan for many of us is breaking our fast and eating together as a family, community or with different groups of friends.

Wishing you all a blessed month ahead!

~Marhaba Ya Ramadhan~

I'm a bit late with this but none the less we welcome the blessed month of Ramadhan that we have all been aniticipating.

Allah says in the Quran...
O you who believe! Fasting has been prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may become Al- Muttaqun. (Q2:183)
So who are the 'Al- Muttaqun'? The are the pious believers of Islamic Monotheism who fear Allah much and abstain from all kinds of sins and  bad deeds which He has forbidden. They love Allah much and perform all the kinds of good deeds that He has ordained.

~So let us strive to be among the Al- Muttaqun in this blessed month and always~

Countdown to Ramadhan

With the month of Ramadhan fast approaching, I can feel the buzz in the air and the anticipation for the blessed month.
This is a very special month for the Muslim Community in which fasting has been prescribed. For many of us it is the bench mark we try to keep for the rest of the year as we make greater efforts to improve our character, perfect our manners, increase in our acts of worship and good deeds and draw closer to God.

So make the most of your Ramadhan! If you haven't done so already, make a plan... your Ramadhan check list of thing you want to achieve be it perform all your sunnah prayers, complete the recitation of the Holy Quran, memorise Surah tul- Mulk... it could be anything...small or large just make sure you start the month with a clear focus.

Below are some books I will be using through out the month, from which I will draw reminders for myself and also to share with my readers inshAllah.
