Purple & Cream

On Zahra's last visit to her home country, Nigeria, she decided to expand on her dress making skills by spending one week 'interning' with her local tailor based in Aleshinloye market, Ibadan.
This was a great experience for her as she had had no formal tuition before this and really had the opportunity to consolidate her skills.
On returning home, Zahra ignited a new found love with  her sewing machine and embarked on a few dress making adventures. Some of these were for family, others for herself and some commercial. Nigerian traditional attire worn now a days are made from ankara, which is a cotton based wax print fabric or lace. Other popular fabric choices are guinea and linen. For more pictures of Zahra's personal sewing projects check out her Facebook blog page. Keep your eyes peeled for more exclusive pictures.

Red Bag

Here are some pictures with one of my prized possessions I stumbled across at LFW 2011.
I threw this outfit together for a friends birthday dinner. I was going for a casual sheek look, and my lovely red bag from Knomo completed the look.

Smoky Not Smudgy 2011

~Part 1~

Smoky not Smudgy was HANDS DOWN thee best charity week event I had the pleasure of attending this year. A big shout out to the crew from Imperial ISOC for putting on such a successful event. Not only did I attend the event, but I also took part in their main event; The Fashion Show, where I showcased ZBZ's 2010 debut collection along with the exclusive piece designed for the Style In competition over the summer.

Here is Part 1 of the event which was packed full of stalls and services for the sisters to enjoy. From professional photo shoots to henna design, it was an event to attend and a great start to the Eid weekend. Stay tuned for the exclusive pictures I took of behind the scenes of the fashion show and the run way itself. Check out my Facebook page for more photo's of the day.

Don't Loose Yourself

My Random Rants #1

Don't loose yourself in what others are doing or by trying to live up to other peoples expectations.

Stay true to yourself, and that can only happen if you know yourself.

So take time out to find the inner you. Analyse what you do and how you respond to different trials.

Find your strength and even your weaknesses.

Stay true to yourself.

Today a dear friend told me, "you will never regret anything in life if you did it for the sake of Allah". Every decision u make, ask yourself 'who am I trying to please'??

Pleasing others above yourself and worse of all above the Creator is a dangerous game.

Protect yourself, cuz if you haven't learnt it already, learn it fast... There is only one person you can rely on and that is Allah!

He won't let you down. Guaranteed!
